Lets face it! Going to your favorite Broadway show, touring show or concert can be a very expensive proposition these days. Tickets to some in demand shows have a face value of over $500 per ticket. I don’t know about you, but that is out of my budget range.

Recently my wife mentioned that she had a desire to see a nearby concert from her favorite group, THE EAGLES. I inquired about the ticket availability and was told that the only tickets left were in a non-desirable section and even then, only single seats were available. I was disappointed and my wife was MORE disappointed than me. I wanted to give them to her for her birthday, which was very close to the concert date. It would have made a perfect gift. But, I was feeling that this birthday present was never going to materialize.

Then, in a conversation with my daughter, I was told about CRAIGS LIST. And on the actual date of the show, just hours before the show, I went to CRAIGS LIST to see if tickets were available. Alas, there were several tickets being promoted on the list in the city that the concert was being held in.

Here is exactly what I did. I went to the home page and clicked on the CITY that was closest to me. In that case, the vast majority of the listings were pertinent to me. I then clicked TICKETS and the most recent postings were right there in front of me. Most of the posts were for tickets that were being sold ABOVE face value. Not my idea of a bargain. So, I decided to do things differently. I posted my own ad saying that I was looking for tickets. Within minutes of posting the ad, I got several emails offering tickets to me. Then I got a phone call from a person who just happened to be located just a few miles from me. I sensed that she was not a scam. I then made an offer to her. The tickets had a face value of $185 plus a service charge of $15.00 making the tickets $200 each. However it was now just four hours before show time and she was unable to attend. I offered her $100 each and she accepted. I then met her at a public location and we exchanged cash and tickets. I also took her license plate number just in case the tickets were bogus. The tickets were in ROW 1 of a great section just a few feet from the stage.

As we drove to the venue, I got SEVERAL calls from other ticket brokers trying to unload their tickets at the last minute for much LESS than the face value.

Get Hannah Montana Concert Tickets or Other Hot Event Tickets NOW!

Just because the local ticket seller, or even the most accessible direct ticket sales outlet says, “Hannah Montana Concert Tickets? Sorry, Sold Out!” doesn’t mean the tickets don’t exist or can’t be had.
There are a couple of key ways to land those hot tickets…

Radio Contests

One solution is to play the radio call in contests for the freebies that are dangled before eager listeners within the sound of their voice. I don’t know about you, but I don’t have 16 hrs or so hours a day to babysit the radio anxiously waiting for the right time to call in the hopes that by some miracle I’ll be the lucky winner.

Ebay and Generic Auctions

General auction sites like eBay can have listings for tickets. A quick search of their site will show you what’s available right then, what the bid’s up to and how long till the auction ends. This is subject to change rapidly, so you’ll need to check back frequently to know if more listings appear. Keep in mind in many cases you’ll be dealing *directly* with individuals — so read the listing details carefully, check out the seller’s ranking to insure you’ll be happy with the purchase.

Secondary Event Ticket Sites

An even better answer is just a couple of well placed clicks away! There are multiple sites cropping up where premium event tickets to the hottest concerts, most sought after sporting or entertainment event tickets – even show taping tickets are readily available. Some of the available tickets come from Season ticket holders, others are average people like you and I, that for one reason or another won’t be using their ticket. The *source* really doesn’t matter.

The bottomline is they are in the hands of the ticket sales site and up for grabs — they’ve got them and you want them – all you need now is to hook up and cut a deal. Some sites like StubHub are auction style, others are 1st come 1st serve. There’s something for everyone’s buying & selling style.

The gamut of tickets available doesn’t stop at concerts and key football games. Any major league sporting event including MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA, Rodeo, Nascar and everything in between can appear in the line up. Theater, New York, Broadway and even Las Vegas Shows are among the pickens. They’ve even had tickets to TV show tapings. Keep in mind, what’s available can change rapidly so keep checking back to catch those “just arrived” primo tickets. Better yet, if the site has a Want List or Alert Section, sign up and plug in your wishes so you’ll get tipped off ASAP if something comes available.

Virtually all people would say the first thing to do is to find a name for the band. Lets start from there s venue we??

The auditions are over, you have found your bass player and you all seem to get along really well. The excitement is in the air and you have had your 1st band bonding celebration.

Now its time to start your musical journey together.

Personally, I think that finding a performer name is THE hardest decision that the performer will ever have to make and for that reason one of the the majority necessary decisions as well.

A performer name is a eminently important part of the artists identity. It’s the first point of contact a punter has with the band.

Does this conversation sound familiar to you?

Them: “Hey, I saw this cool performer last night. You gotta check them out”

You: “Cool, what has been the name of the band?”

Them: “Ummmmmm……. I do not know”.

Arrrrrgh!!!! I get that all the time.

I cannot remember how many times people have raved about a band to me but cannot tell me the name when I ask them. Right there is the was ted opening  for a band. It frustrates me no end.

This is a perfect example of how extremely important a band name is.

The performer name
is the 1st thing that a punter will remember. They won’t address the performer by the names of the individuals in it when they talk to their friends (unless they are personal friends of yours) they will address the performer by its name.

The optimum way to find a band name is through sheer persistance. Locating a band name that is agreeable by anybody at all isn’t an easy task.

Here are some band name party suggestions:

1. Get every member to write down their own list of potential performer names

This can be the 1st task that the band could do collectively. performance a date for the 1st band meeting and betwixt now and then do that task.

2. Make brainstorming performer names the topic of your first ever performer meeting

When any person gets together put all of the lists out on the table and go through each one keeping to one side the names that’strike a chord’ (sorry about the pun) with all of you and getting rid of the rest.

As a group try brainstorming some ideas. This is a wonderful way to start formulating what the performer is all about, what its image is etc, etc.

3. Start a competition among all your companions /family/anyone else via email

This is a exceptional way to start compiling the beginnings of your performers email list. List all of your friends /family/anyone else that you want to include and their email addresses and compile them all into one mailing group. Send out an email outlining the competition and be ready for the suggestions to come flooding in.

It is vital to have a cut off date for the competition (perhaps by your 1st performer meeting) and to have a prize on provide. Of course the prize is totally up to you.

Make sure that when you do find a performer name that you announce it through your email group. You’ve just started email promotion of your band.

Whatever you do have fun with the process and do not let the quest to find a performer name override the other things that you’ve to do such as writing songs and locating rehearsal space.

I guarantee that once you have agreed on a performer name you’ll all collectively breathe a huge sigh of relief. The hardest part of the journey has been achieved.

Brokering Concert Tickets 101

With the now permanent foundation of selling that is EBay-ticket scalping-or more kindly, ticket brokering, has become a mainstay in the secondary market of ticketing. While once a simple side project to make a few bucks, this periodic gamble has become the livelihood of many people.

Sounds good doesn’t it? I’m going to give you the 2 minute inside scoop on how to start selling concert tickets online.

First and foremost there are generally 2 types of sales for concert tickets, a general public sale, available to everyone, and a presale. A presale will take place anywhere from a week to a day before the public sale. To give an example of how this works, let’s say a concert has 1000 tickets to sell, they might have 200 tickets available through a presale and the rest will be available through the public sale. Why go for the 200 instead of the 800? Well for a big show, one that’s going to sell out, there will be thousands of people bidding for the same tickets come the public sale, but the presale is going to be password protected, so only a limited number of people are going to be bidding for these concert tickets.

Now all you need to do is be lucky, and get a good set of tickets. Once you get these tickets you need somewhere to sell them, like EBay for a lot of people. But also, for serious brokers, there are companies out there that will try and sell your concert tickets for you though third-party brokering sites like http://www.TicketSpot.com. These companies let you set your own prices, so you control your profits, and you won’t have to do any work after that, just sit back and wait for the sale.
